Newbie: Is there a way to get password partially konwing contents of RAR?
#1
Question
Hello, I am new to using hashcat and would appreciate some help!

I have a passworded RAR archive without encrypted file names that I made few months ago.
I usually have USB flash drive that I store all my personal and banking passwords in txts.
That time I needed it for something else so I archived all the files and moved them to my PC.

I assume when I did that, I either made some spelling error in one of my usual passwords or for some reason used some random password because it should have been temporary.(Obviously yours truly dumass forgot it)

Now I have RAR archive with all my passwords to which I do not know the password to.

I already spent quiet a while trying to bruteforce my password without any success.

The thing is that when I made that archive, I just archived all the files on the USB and by chance I have copies of more than half non-password related files.

Is there a way to get a password from an archive and partially known files with known data?

Thank you in advance.
