Just bought a sapphire 7970 today, put into my debian config - no xorg. Installed the drivers from the debian wiki - got the displayback; however, oclhashcat says no gpu drivers.
Installed the latest .deb bundle with catalyst 14.4 beta from the amd site - no display.
Has anyone run ocl on 7970 under debian? If other than debian, which linux distro worked for you?
