I have the same error with:
/cudaHashcat-plus64.bin -d 1 2 3 -m 500 -r test.rule -o found.txt md5.txt full.txt

works with:
/cudaHashcat-plus64.bin -d 1 2 3 -m 500 -r test.rule -n1 -o found.txt md5.txt full.txt


test.rule contains 150 rules
full.txt is a wordlist of 170'582'332 lines
