Container .tc file, how to know which -m to use ?

Hi guys,

I have a container.tc file which i forgot my password, i have some ideas about it but i tried all what's in my head without success.

how can i find out a password for the truecrypt file ? and which -m should i use ? i don't remember which "encryption mode" i used in the past.... how can i figure it out ?

If it's a booting FDE then you can use mode 6243 and it will be always the right mode. You also cut a different section, see wiki entry.
If it's a partition or a file volume you have to try the modes 6213, 6223 and 6233.
