I’m trying to use hashcat in linux but it keeps saying that the version is outdated, what do i put?

This is too general a question to answer, we need to know more details:
What system?
What is the hashcat verse?
What equipment?

hmm it’s using infosec cause it’s for a lab so it’s like a The-Distribution-Which-Does-Not-Handle-OpenCL-Well (Kali) 2 linux system and it was sudo hashcat. I have two hashes i have to find the password to do i’m trying to use it
