hi, i have been playing wwith this, and i notice my HD7970 is always so slow hashing...
right now it hashes around 56H/s.....even my cpu core-i5 hashes higher than 1000H/s...
been trying different drivers to no avail...
i'm on windows 7 and tried:
non-whql-win7-64bit-radeon-software-crimson-16.11.5-nov25.exe
non-whql-win7-64bit-radeon-software-crimson-relive-17.11.4-nov27.exe
both say when starting i have the wrong driver...
requirements supposedly are:
AMD GPUs on Windows require "AMD Radeon Software Crimson Edition" (15.12 or later)
so, do i need to go back all the way to 15.12?
thanks

Hmm, interesting. I wouldn't expect you to have to downgrade drivers - latest stable should be fine.
Is it possible that something else is keeping your GPU busy?

What hash type are you getting 56H/s with? For a reference, I just recently dusted off a HD7970 and am getting approx 7,500MH/s with my 7970 with m0.
I'm using WIN 10 with Radeon 17.7.2 so no I don't believe you need to go back to 15.12. In fact, it does state "or later".

sorry forgot the hash, its m15700, got an ethereum wallet to crack and i know the pass aint got more than 15 chars with a couple words mixed, with with gpu should be doable...
also, a bench test on m0 gives 8500mh/s with no error or warning, but on m15700 i get opencl selftest error and no benchmark....

On bench test with m15700, I get same error message about OpenCL kernel self-test failed.

It's using scrypt which is designed to be especially slow on GPU. Use your CPU.
About the self-test: that might be a bug in the kernel.

...hmmm ok
Right now the 7970 is doing 140H, the cpu is doing 600H and the intel hd4000 is doing 800H, its comical to see the hd4000 doing so much better than the dedicated graphics

just a note: if you still get the warning about the failing self-test something as wrong and you will not be able to crack the hash.
