do multiple Sagitta/Terahash appliances need a dedicated(hw) cluster-controller (connected over InfiniBand)?

I'm not sure if this is really the appropriate venue for this question, but as it is the "Misc > Hardware" forum, I suppose it's okay. Yes, to cluster multiple appliances you would need a Magistos cluster controller + interconnect (10/40GbE, not InfiniBand.)
