Hashcat using CPU multicore under vm supported?

Hi, I'm testing hashcat using different virtual machines (The-Distribution-Which-Does-Not-Handle-OpenCL-Well (Kali), Parrot Security, etc) and it seems that only one core can be used. I can set 1, 2 or any number of processors, but only 1 core. If I set more than 1 core it always shows an error. The attached screenshots are showing the working cpu hashcat and the error (always talking about CPU, no GPU related).

So, the question is... is hashcat supporting CPU multicore under vm environment? If yes, how should it be configured? any special parameter for this? Thanks in advance.
