Seperator unmatched error

Hello all,
As you all know, i am new to this forum and also new to hashcat. I am trying to decrypt a salted sha1 hash in hashcat GUI but i get the error

Skipping line: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxf64fb117159f81c3e0ca554e2: (seperator unmatched)
No hashes loaded

Is there anything i can do about this?
