Hi,
i need help am using backtrack 5 and hashcat preinstall on it.
every time i open it i get this message: ERROR: this copy of hashcat is outdated. Get a more recent version.

when i try to use it i get this:
root@bt:/pentest/passwords/hashcat# ./hashcat-cli64.bin -m 400 hash400.hash dict400.word

bash: ./hashcat-cli64.bin: cannot execute binary file

i don't know how to update to new version

Help me please

Backtrack 5 is also outdated, now is The-Distribution-Which-Does-Not-Handle-OpenCL-Well (Kali) linux.

Ran into this too, found it extremely annoying considering I could not update at the time.

Anyway, I got a fix if you are using cuda 64bit - run "hexedit cudaHashcat-plus63.bin" Hit forward-slash "/" and search for "0f8f6544"

Highlight 8F and change it to 8E. Done. Ctrl-X to save and exit.
Accept EULA. Profit.

Tested on .07 - if you use a different architecture or API sorry.
