iTunes backup 14800 speed
#1
Hey folks,

I'm new here, and learning how to competently use hashcat.

I'm curious as to what speeds folks are getting from running dictionary attacks on iTunes backups?

On my Ryzen 7 2700 w/ GTX 1050 Ti, I'm seeing about 32 H/S.

hashcat.exe -m 14800 -w 3 -a 0 manifest.txt Dictionary.txt

I'd absolutely consider buying a properly competent GPU for this workstation if I can see significant speed gains.  Any advise?

Use -b to benchmark better, along with -w 4 and -O.
Some benchmarks shows 377 H/s on latest RTX 3090 and 253 H/s on 2080Ti
Yep, iTunes >10 is very slow.

Thank you for the reply!

Should I consider building an intel box to run this on (I'm on a ryzen 7)...or will I be getting maximum benefit by just getting a proper GPU paired to my ryzen?

GPU looks like faster than CPU.
