Hi!
I want to buy a new Graphiccard!
I use in most cases 70% oclhashcat, which one should I buy?
Nvidia or ATI?
A specific modell or the latest one?
I don´t mind the price.
Thank you!

If you dont mind the price, buy Radeon 5870 or GTX 480 .
They are top for amd and nv atm.
Just make sure they are properly cooled, so buy a model with non-stock cooling.

I just swapped my 3 nvidia cards for 3 ati (same pricerange) and the new ones are almost 300% faster so i would without a doubt go for ati.
Ok, i know this thread is old but still wanted to reply

AMD/ATI is much more better for GPU cracking in my opinion!

It is, for single and small hashlists.

ATi Radeon HD 5970 the most powerful card right now
but the problem is the card is not available to buy in market, u should try to buy used. and also u need cooling system if u have then ok, actually this card getting too much warm..

2x 6970s will out perform a single 5970 and are roughly the same price.
Because GPU's become finicky (IE: games will work fine, but GPGPU will fail) I would not suggest buying one second hand.

6990 is faster than 5970 at both ALU-bound and memory-bound tasks. However, it needs more power and the heat dissipation problem is worse with that GPU.

6990 is also slower than 2x 6970's
