Hi,

went through the wiki and found default parameters, but somehow this sounds chines to me. I start hashcat with

Code:
hashcat -m 22000 -a3 25689_1672235006.hc22000

in order to find WIFI WPA2 password. On my old laptop it shows me approx 33 years to finish using arround 4800hashes/min. So I wonder what the base for that assumption is. How many chracters will hashcat try in its default setting like I used?

Breaking on the CPU misses the point you must have a GPU or rent one for yourself e.g. here vast.ai

Yes, I am aware of that. But my question was of other nature.
