Best approach for recovering a long but partially remembered password?

I’m trying to recover a password-protected ZIP file but only remember parts of the password:

12-16 characters, mix of uppercase, lowercase, and numbers

Likely two common words + a 4-digit number (order unknown)

Would a mask attack be the best approach, or should I go with a dictionary + rules strategy?
