So we have to wait for the brand new stuff from amd , 1Ghz per gpu , 2 x 8 pin power connectors and a customized cooling system.

Please post some pics in here , if them are available.

looks like VRM doesn't get water cooled.

Anybody try these yet? Specifically, I'm wondering if there will work in close proximity, as in 4 of them on an Asus Z87-WS, maybe in a Lian Li PC-D8000 with two LEPA 1600? Or do they need more space between each card?

I purchased a R9 295X2 last week.
I tested one MD5 hash with oclHashcat-1.20(redhat linux)
It seems that 2 x 290x performance, max 73 Celsius because of water cooling
I think water-cooled GPU is nice and last choice in hashcat users

Could you share your benchmarks please?
#6
Will share mine tomorrow when i get the card for testings Smile
#7
Ok thank you, mine is still in its box, waiting for some other components...

Ok, The current version 1.20 of oclhashcat has some issues with 295x and powertune, you will need to use it without powertune. It will be fixed in a new beta.

As for the bench mark, it is (as it should be) exactly identical to 2* 290x

However, in multi GPU machine, the card may throttle when it gets too hot around 72C i think in theory, this is design by AMD.

In my case, i don't mind it, i went to this card for the cooling aspect.
I am running 5 GPU total so the card gets a bit warm from other cards.
However, i think the current driver isn't as good as it should. In real life, it seems to throttle around 68C, which is not good.

If you plan to run that card alone, you should have no problem.
However, to go full speed you will need powertune in the fixed version.

Example speed with my 5 gpu (3 * 290x + 1 295x) :
#4 and #5 are from 295x2

Hashtype: MD4

Speed.GPU.#1.: 25112.7 MH/s
Speed.GPU.#2.: 25056.8 MH/s
Speed.GPU.#3.: 25057.9 MH/s
Speed.GPU.#4.: 25089.7 MH/s
Speed.GPU.#5.: 25055.0 MH/s
Speed.GPU.#*.: 125.4 GH/s

Hashtype: MD5

Speed.GPU.#1.: 12628.2 MH/s
Speed.GPU.#2.: 12628.0 MH/s
Speed.GPU.#3.: 12628.2 MH/s
Speed.GPU.#4.: 12623.8 MH/s
Speed.GPU.#5.: 12628.9 MH/s
Speed.GPU.#*.: 63137.2 MH/s

Hashtype: WPA/WPA2:

Speed.GPU.#1...: 203.3 kH/s
Speed.GPU.#2...: 203.3 kH/s
Speed.GPU.#3...: 203.3 kH/s
Speed.GPU.#4...: 201.0 kH/s
Speed.GPU.#5...: 203.3 kH/s
Speed.GPU.#*...: 1014.1 kH/s

So exactly same as it should be, Two 290x

What motherboard are you using? Which slot is the X2 located in, and how much airflow is it getting?
#10
X2 is on the first slot, where it gets hotter on a multi GPU setup.
That's why i decided to use X2.

MSI big bang xpower II for the motherboard.

There is a 140mm fan blowing air to X2 and the 290x below it from previous setup. I decided to keep it that way considering how much heat this is generating
