walterlacka do you also run it without --restore?
can you provide the full details (number of masks) and the .restore file?
does it always stop at the same mask? If you upload the .restore file we would also need to know what the mask is at that position (stored in the .restore file). This will be shown on the status display. Otherwise we would need the full hashcat mask file.

Yes, this problem occurs when running without --restore as well. (It will occur on a --restore or a fresh run).
The number of masks in this hcmask file is 29736. It does NOT always stop at same mask. I can provide the whole hcmask file if needed and also the restore file that was created during the run if that will provide useful information (however, the detail below wasn't from a --restore run).
Here's the CLI of when it occured (I've edited some details like path and name of session):
hashcat64.exe -O -w4 -a3 hash.txt largemaskfile.hcmask --session name20
Here's the result from when it failed:

Restore value is greater than keyspace.
I've seen it on other larger mask files as well - not just this one.

I have the same problem. I tried with the 8char-1l-1u-1d-1s-compliant.hcmask, it stops at guess.queue 135 (?d?d?d?l?s?d?u?d) with the error.
Can't resume, gives same error.
If i run hashcat with that mask manually, it runs fine.
I have only one VGA
Version 4.1.0 (windows binaries)
I pasted more info at

May I ask if there is some sort of fix for this? Since it still happens on hc 5.1.0 .
Using maskfile which was provided by default in /masks/rockyou-5-86400.hcmask
