How to speed up password search?
#1
I'm trying to recover my ETH password. I know first 6 chars and the password is 12 chars long. For example, first chars are abcdef and the rest of password are just letters and numbers. So I'm typing command:

-m 15700 -a 3 -w 3 -1 ?l?u?d hash abcdef?1?1?1?1?1?1

and searching time is about 126 days (CPU). Can I somehow speed up searching, maybe there is other method relevant in this case?

ETH simply is really slow. Try to remember more about your password and make a more narrow mask.

Ok, thanks. By the way, i have another questions. Do you know if hashcat saves somewhere combinations of chars that it makes from chars i set in my charset? Maybe in cache?

You just have to read the postst.
15700-Benchmark

If you have enough ETH n your wallet it will be nice to buy an 3990x O__o

3990x is around $5000, and will get something like 80 H/s..
You need to narrow the keyspace down.

I would like to be able to use such equipment, it would solve my problem quickly, but I cannot afford it :/
