If I'm not mistaken hashcat won't detect the CPU unless there are no GPUs found, and you'll need to have OpenCL support for the CPU.  Does your M1 have that in OSX?

I have a particular archive that I made a couple of years back, and I'd like to crack it.  I used 7z2hashcat to export the has from the archive and then imported it into hashcat and it says no hashes ...
