It` s not for passwds, it` s for textencryption. I` m aware of the cbc ecb discussion. The question was not what an attacker could do if he had access.

What hashtype? Hashcat should run through a 5gb dictionary in a few minutes if hashtype is MD5 and mode is normal.

Catalyst 12.8 does not support Ubuntu 12.10s Kernel... With 12.04 everything works as it should.
