Just get the 4090. The advice around getting several smaller GPUs is still relevant in some cases, but the 4090 is currently extremely compelling across all stats/measures and combined with the simpli...

Ideally you want to get something that actually can serve at least x8 3.0 lanes to each card or use multiple rigs. I've been building off AMD Epyc systems recently, 2nd gen and similar, and using SFF-...

Your motherboard is going to kill a large percentage of your effective speed in any real attack due to the limitation of just x1 PCIe lanes per card. Mining equipment should NOT be used for hashcat, i...

Post: RE: helllo question for the advanced users!

Wallets have different numbers of rounds and thus run at different speeds. No realistic amount of GPUs will ever make x12 ?a possible, at all. You would need on the order of 60,000 4090s to bring ...

Good news: Yes, you can cluster multiple machines with hashtopolis like that. It has been done many times and with far more machines/GPUs than that. Bad news: it won't matter at all if you are tryi...

36^16 is completely unreasonable. That's 7,958,661,109,946,400,884,391,936 possible candidates. A 4090 will do 2,700,000 per second, which would take 93,469,440,098 YEARS to complete.

This is not a possible attack to perform, even with that sort of reduction. The keyspace will still be far too large. Unfortunately, default wifi password schemes have gotten strong enough to be infea...

You can essentially ignore the tuning values, they are chosen by hashcat's autotune engine as you have already figured out. As penguin said, that speed looks perfectly fine and within the tolerance/va...

If those nonascii characters are more than 1 byte when UTF8 encoded, then this will not work currently as the s rule operator only accepts single byte substitutions.

This is a toolkit/driver mismatch. Your driver is FAR newer than your toolkit version from what you've posted. You should be on toolkit 12.3update1 with a driver that new.

You won't be able to attack a wallet file as PBKDF2 alone, you will need to do the decryption step. This will require writing a new kernel/module for hashcat.

This is not a bug. Your mask keyspace is too large. You cannot start with a mask that big. The limits for hybrid mode are smaller than the limits for mask mode.

You should run these benchmarks separately. If the CPU is busy, it will limit how fast the GPU can go. Do GPU in 1 run and CPU(s) in a different run.

Correct, the RTX 6000 Ada (not A6000) does have a fan, though it can work in a server chassis too. The L40 (or its variants) will work fine as a replacement if you can get them, though I'm not sure if...
