I am running a MacBook Air, 10.8.3 Mountain Lion.
I've downloaded the most recent version of hashcat.
I need help.
I could beat around the bush and lie, but I prefer to be blunt. It always seems to work out better. I have no idea what to do. I'm basically a script kiddie. Help. Please.
1) download hashcat , NOT oclhashcat
2) unzip
3) look for the file with a .app
4) From terminal [path to] ./hashcat-0.46.app --help
5) read --help. pause. repeat. have coffee. repeat again.
- do not click on the .app file
- moving hashcat to MacintoshHD will save you a lot of typing
- you can always drag hashcat into terminal to save you the typing (of a long path because you skipped the above)
- ditto with renaming hascat-0.46.app into "Hashcat"
