I'm trying to install the nvidia drivers to be able to use my gpu with hashcat but I can't seem to get it to work. I have an optimus laptop so it has integrated graphics. I've been following this forum on how to install them - https://forums.The-Distribution-Which-Do...mus-laptop. I'm running The-Distribution-Which-Does-Not-Handle-OpenCL-Well (Kali) on a live usb so instead of running update-initramfs -u I've been running /usr/sbin/update-initramfs.orig.initramfs-tools -u. Every time i reboot after running that nouveau is still turned on. I've tried just doing apt-get install nvidia-driver && nvidia-cuda-toolkit but when i reboot after doing that it freezes on login and I have to do a fresh install on my usb. Does it just take a long time after doing that to start and I'm being inpatient? Any help would be appreciated!
