ATI 290x on Ubuntu 14.04
#1
I've been trying to get Ubuntu 14.04 to see the Radeo 290x cards for a while with no success.

This is the message I'm getting

aticonfig: No supported adapters detected

I tried first installing ATI Catalyst (http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles...river.aspx)

I then tried this guideline
http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu_...tion_Guide

But with no success.

Did anyone run into this problem? What do you guys recommend?

Try to read wiki
When you download oclHashcat, look a bit lower, you will see what driver is needed (not recommended but majority).

Thank you very much!

I re-build the system using the same software listed in the Wiki and using the same driver. I was able to see only two out the four GPUs I have installed on the system.

Any idea what may be causing this?

Thanks

amdconfig --initial -f --adapter=all

reboot

Hi,

Also, keep in mind that you need X window and autologin enabled. It was my issue on my first time, I wasted 2 days to figure it out. If you don't start X and log on it, no way.

Good luck
