I'm sure this question has been answered a bunch of times but every time i try cracking a hash i get a "No Devices Found" error. I have tried this on a The-Distribution-Which-Does-Not-Handle-OpenCL-Well (Kali) and bootable USB VM.

K a l i is known to not be very Open-CL friendly.
But generally, if OpenCL can see your devices, hashcat should work.

Should I try it on windows? I heard there's a cap on how much GPU power you could use.

I personally prefer something like Ubuntu (desktop or server), but I don't think there's a difference in compute power.

use windows. performance is the same.
