word list and masks

I'm downloading the weakpass_2a list as it seems fairly big, what is the accepted best list for a fairly unknown password? also do i need to apply rules to a list like that?

You can try the weakpass_2 which is smaller : http://www.mediafire.com/file/q8u95nni5n...kpass_2.7z
Using rules on such big lists will take forever except if you know the pattern of the password you want to crack and write your own list with only few different rules.

there were 30 or 40 seeds and about 3 leeches thanks, I'll give the shorter list a go first!
