8-12% drop in speed in "Hashcat 3.5.0" (running wpa2)
#1
So i have been away for some time (6 months), and decided to get back on the saddle..I started by upgrade to windows10 pro 64

Something odd must have happend, because i noticed a major drop in speeds for WPA2 cracking on "hashcat 3.5.0" when i compare it to old "3.30"

If i compare the older 3.30 and the newer 3.5.0 it starts at the same speed, but after a minute the 3.5.0 verson drops the speed by 8-12%!! Both GPU is working @ 100% but seems to show inacurate numbers, (because the speeds is the same/almost the same in 3.10 3.20 and 3.30) Also when pushing the "s" button (status) hashcat seems a bit laggy and not as fast as it use to be

Is this happening because the new HCCAPx format? I thought it wasnt any difference in speeds between the new format and the old. Also i have heard that the 3.5.0 is basically old 3.30 with a lot of bugfixes, thats whats bothering me

You can "reset to hccap" the way how hashcat is working by using --nonce-error-corrections=0

That made a lot of difference. Thanks

Then you maybe want to fix your handshake recording. Try out wlandump from https://github.com/ZerBea/hcxtools it's the way to go in 2017.
