Asus ROG Strix GTX 1070 does not work
#1
Hello ladies and gentlemen,

I'm owning this nice card: Asus ROG Strix GTX 1070 with cuda support with latest drivers from Asus support site.
Trying to use it with hashcat 5.1.0 on Windows 10 PC

Unfortunately, I have an issue. The hashcat doesn't see it at all.
I'm running below commands, just to try how it detects the cards:
hashcat -I
hashcat -b

And no output of these 2 commands Sad
I tried to play with different drivers - installed previous versions from the support site:

https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/ROG-..._Download/

But no luck, hashcat does not see the card. However, any game running with this driver without any problems.
Who can point me please, what am I doing wrong?
Any help appreciated.

did you try following this guide to re-install the driver (completely uninstall and install again):
https://hashcat.net/wiki/doku.php?id=fre...hould_i_do

if that fails (afterwards) you could use ddu (Display Driver Uninstaller) as an alternative for driver fusion.

Thank you for trying to help, philsmd Smile
As revealed, the problem was not drivers related at all in my case.
I fucked my brain a lot today with driver reinstalling, and I was able to make the hashcat to work with my card by turning on both cards(integrated & pci-e in bios). But that's probably the motherboard specific "problem". I have MB Asus Maximus VIII Hero.
Thanks anyway :-)
