The AMD Radeon HD 7970 should now be officially supported by Catalyst 12.1 wit working acceleration and no longer being flagged as "unsupported hardware." However, I'm still waiting on my Radeon HD 7970 hardware from AMD to confirm.

Key word there is SHOULD. Unfortunately the reality was it didn't detect it.

I tested on my 5970 SL3: 3600-4000 M/s.

yes. the 7970 is a single gpu card while the 5970 is a dual gpu card. i am wondering how you can have 3600-4000 M/s without overclocking it. keep in mind i've tested the 7970 on stock clocks.
