Build Machine

Hey guys,

I'm going to build a new gaming/cracking rig. I was thinking about hybrid cooling on 1080 GPU ( for better overclock and no throttling). I saw some benches but they were mostly on gaming.

What do you guys think? Is it worth buying hybrid or nah?

EDIT//

My Planned Gaming/Cracking rig would be:

Case: NZXT S340
Case Custom Fans: Corsair Air Series SP140, červená led, 140mm, 2ks - Front Radiator
Case Custom Fans: Corsair Air Series AF120 Quiet Edition 120mm - back exhaust
Case Custom Fans: Corsair Air Series AF140 Quiet Edition 140mm - top exhaust
Mobo: ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING - Intel Z170
CPU: i7 6700K
CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X61
GPU: MSI GTX 1080 Sea Hawk
Ram: Kingston HyperX Savage Black 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3000
Power: Be quiet! Pure Power 9 CM 600W
Storage #1: Samsung SSD 850 EVO - 500GB, Basic
Storage #2: WD Black - 2TB

Bumping cause im rly curious about opinion on Sea Hawk for hashcracking, cause it offers higher freq at lower temps = no throttling.. at least that's what MSI says

That card is designed for gaming workloads not compute workloads.

But I've seen so many people complaining about temp/hz/Voltage throttling when using Founders Edition. How do you keep it cooled? Running 100% fan speed isnt the best solution, cause it's not rly good for the fan, or am I wrong?

Yes, you're wrong. There's nothing wrong with running the fan at 100%. The Founders Edition cools just fine and doesn't throttle. Stop reading reviews from gamers and graphics people.

So running the fan speed at 100% all the time won't shorten the GPU lifespan that much?
Did you already try the OC on FE 1080 on 2Ghz?

Some hashcat user tried, said it works fine
